WHAT IS HOLISTIC MEDICINE?

The goal of holistic medicine practice is to achieve health and happiness by creating balance in life.
It is a form of healing that considers the person as a whole that should be treated as one.
We are made up of interdependent parts, body, mind and spirit and it is not enough to only look at one of them and treat them separately. If one part is not working properly, all the other parts will be affected.
Holistic medicine is based on the belief that all people have innate healing powers to awake.
Treatments are approaching the cause of the condition, the “story behind the story”, not just alleviating the symptoms. This takes a team , including the healer and the client. The approach is to work together to reveal the causes and empower the client to take responsibility and gain his or her own health and well-being.
Holistic medicine uses a wider range of treatment and encourages open-mindedness. Some of these approaches may include the use of complementary and alternative medicine but holistic medicine does not dismiss the use of conventional medicine as part of the treatment.

Kinesiology, transgenerational therapies, nutrition, exercise, homeopathy, art therapy, acupuncture and meditation are just a few examples that may be used together as part of an holistic approach.
